Windows 7 – Windows 7 is a hit. It improves on pathetic Windows Vista substantially. We like it more than Windows XP also. If you currently have Windows XP, stick with it for several reasons, including the cost to migrate to Windows 7 does not make sense. If you have Windows Vista, however, you might want to consider upgrading. The software itself (Windows 7 Home Premium) lists for $119 for the upgrade. If you have Windows Vista Home Premium, it’s an in-place upgrade which means that you shouldn’t have to reinstall anything after you’re done. In practice, we have seen it both ways. With simple implementations like iTunes and Microsoft Office, it’s simple. When you start including all in one printer software, (HP, we are talking about you) and VPN software, it adds drama to the event. If you have XP or Windows Vista Basic, you can’t do an in-place upgrade. This means that you have to reinstall from scratch, which means that if you want us to do it (and do it right), it will cost a lot of money. In our opinion, it’s not worth the cost.
